Terms of sale
These terms apply when you buy from diyscreens.co.nz. They sit alongside your Consumer Guarantees Act rights, which they do not limit.
Who you are buying from
DIY Screens is a trading name of Alex & Jack Limited, a New Zealand company. We supply goods only. We do not install what you buy here; if you would rather have screens measured and fitted for you, that is Phantom Screens.
Prices and GST
Every price shown on this site includes GST at 15%. Prices are in New Zealand dollars. A GST receipt is issued with your order.
Screens are priced in size bands, so an opening a little smaller than a band is charged at that band. The price you see in the configurator is the price for the exact configuration on screen at that moment.
Prices can change. If a price changes between you adding a screen to your cart and paying, we will show you the difference and ask you to confirm it before taking any payment. We never adjust a price silently in either direction.
Freight
Freight is calculated from your order value and the island it is going to, and is shown as its own line before you pay. It includes GST. We deliver within New Zealand only.
Your measurements
You supply the sizes and we build to them. Please read the fitting guide first: it sets out how much to add to a daylight opening, when to add less, what changes if you fit an angle, and the clearances a magnetic screen needs. A screen built to the size you gave us cannot be returned for being the wrong size. See returns and faults.
Making and delivery
Screens are made to order. Indicative lead times are shown on the product page and run from the day your order is confirmed. We will tell you if anything is going to take materially longer.
Payment
Payment is taken at checkout, and your order is confirmed once payment succeeds. Because production is scheduled from that point, an order can only be changed or cancelled if we have not yet cut material for it. Ask as early as you can and we will do what we can.
Promotion codes
Where a promotion code is offered it applies to the goods in your order. It does not reduce freight. One code per order unless we say otherwise.
Fitting and safety
These products are designed to be fitted by the buyer, and the guides cover it. Insect screens are not a safety barrier: they will not stop a person or a pet falling, and they are not a security product. Do not rely on one to keep anybody in or out.
Law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law.
