A blind can only perform as well as the opening it is fixed to. Confirm the finished surfaces and how loads transfer into the structure before measuring the product.
Ask before ordering when
Posts move, cladding is the only apparent fixing face, the opening needs packing or framing, or gutters, flashings and services obstruct the blind.
Exposure changes the decision
Wind direction, gusts and the size of the opening affect product use and fixing requirements. An exposed site deserves professional assessment.
Do not guess fixings
Fastener type, embedment and spacing depend on the actual substrate and blind build. Use the supplied instructions and get project-specific advice.

What the material choices mean
Choose by the job the blind needs to do. The configurator shows the exact colours and materials currently available for this build.
Standard insect mesh
Prioritises ventilation and outlook while helping keep everyday flies and mosquitoes out.
Fine / midge mesh
A tighter insect weave for smaller insects such as midges and sandflies, with some reduction in airflow.
Solar, shade and privacy mesh
E-Screen 10% is more open; E-Screen 6% is tighter for more shade and daytime privacy. Vtex options are outdoor shade and privacy fabrics in named ranges and colours.
Clear PVC
The clearer weather-barrier choice. Unlike mesh, it does not allow airflow through the material.
Material is a functional choice
Balance insect protection, airflow, shade, daytime privacy and weather protection using the purpose guide above.
Pelmet is a build choice
Select from the current options shown. The pelmet and surrounding structure must be allowed for in the installation plan.
Dimensions are finished sizes

Is this genuine Ziptrak?
Yes. The self-serve product is a genuine made-to-measure Ziptrak track-guided outdoor blind.
Can I install it myself?
Yes, if you can accurately assess the finished opening, structural substrate, exposure and safe fixing method. It is classed as advanced DIY, not a beginner fitting job.
Should I choose insect mesh, shade mesh or clear PVC?
Choose standard insect mesh for ventilation, outlook and everyday insect protection, or fine / midge mesh for smaller insects with some loss of airflow. E-Screen 10% and 6% are solar and shade meshes, with 6% the tighter weave; Vtex options are outdoor shade and privacy fabrics. Clear PVC is the weather-barrier choice and has no airflow through the material.
What fixings should I use?
There is no safe universal answer. The right fastener, embedment and spacing depend on the actual structure, blind size and site exposure. Follow the supplied product instructions and seek project-specific advice where required.
What if my blind does not fit?
A blind made correctly to the dimensions supplied cannot be returned for a customer measuring error. Use the enquiry form before ordering if any part of the structure or finished opening is uncertain.
